BJYM committed to flag hoisting at Lal Chowk

JAMMU, Jan 20: Undeterred by the Government’s reported move to stop the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha’s (BJYM) Ekta Yatra at entry point of Lakhanpur and not allow it to go beyond, the organization today declared that it will hoist the National Flag at historical Lal Chowk in Kashmir Valley at any cost and the Party will not hesitate from giving any sacrifice for the same.
BJYM as well as its parental organization, BJP has kept all its options open for taking the Yatra to Kashmir Valley and hoist the Tricolour at Lal Chowk, said BJP state president, Shamsher Singh Manhas while talking to Excelsior, this afternoon.
He said in case the BJYM activists are not allowed to cross the Lakhanpur, thousands of party activists from all parts of Jammu region carrying Tricolours in their hands will move towards Kashmir Valley to hoist the National Flag at Lal Chowk. "Being the State subjects we will see how the Government will not allow us to proceed towards Lal Chowk, Srinagar", he asked?
The Omar Abdullah Government’s move to stop the yatra shows its double standards, he said, adding it is soft towards the Hurriyat and harsh towards the patriotic and nationalist forces. "If Government allowed Hurriyat to hoist the Pakistani flag at Lal Chowk, Srinagar last year, how can it oppose the BJYM to hoist the National Flag at the same venue", he asked?
Our motto is to reach Kashmir at any cost for flag hosting ceremony and Party cadres will do it at the risk and cost of their lives said BJYM national vice president, Pawan Khajuria. The future strategy in this regard will be decided in BJYM meet on January 22 , he added.
On the other hand the Party has made all the preparations for the Ekta Yatra which is led by BJYM national president Anurag Thakur and which has started from Kolkatta West Bengal on Janaury 12. The BJYM state president, Munish Sharma and BJP state general secretary Satish Sharma who is the in charge of the yatra said that 15,000 flags have been made while 20,000 more flags will be ready by tomorrow morning.
Besides, over one lakh buntings are also in place, they said, adding the Party has made all arrangements for boarding and lodging of yatris at Jammu. While arrangements for boarding and lodging of 25,000 yatris has been made at the residences of party activists and sympathizers in Jammu and its outskirts, the Party has booked 20 halls and 25 to 30 dharmshallas for accommodation of Yatris, they added.
They said that over 60,000 BJYM activists will reach Jammu on January 24 and they will be joined by thousands of youth from the region to leave for Kashmir Valley for flag hoisting next day.
BJYM national president Anurag Thakur along with other BJP leaders including celebrity Navjot Singh Sidhu, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley and Party national general secretary, Anant Kumar will address a huge rally at Jammu on January 25 afternoon, said Pawan Sharma.
