Jammu : Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley on Friday extending all support to the people here said the party considers Jammu and Kashmir as a part of India's ideology. Addressing the 'Ekta Sankalp rally' here, Jaitley criticized the government for its alleged succumbing to the pressure of the separatists and overlooking the expectations of the nationalist majority of the people in the State, saying the people here have endured ambiguity for the past 63 years.
"I have told in the beginning that Bharatiya Janata Party does not consider Jammu and Kashmir as an ordinary state; we consider it as a part of India's ideology. We have come here to give you assurance that the injustice that is being suffered by the state and people of Jammu for the past 63 years will be no longer," said Jaitley.
He had earlier on Friday said there was a need to strengthen the political and constitutional relationship between the Centre and the state by revoking the Article 370. Jaitley, who is the leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, further slammed the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government at the Centre for its incapability in gauging inflation, stopping corruption and the menace of Maoists.
"Today, the condition of the country is that the federal government constitutes such concession that will put unity of the country in jeopardy. This government is unable of any administration or any governance Maoists attacks are increasing, prices are on constant rise, corruption is at its peak, and with all this it is very apparent that the government has lost its way of administration," he added.
