J&K: NC Accuses BJP of Doublespeak

Accusing the BJP of doublespeak, the ruling National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir today said the saffron party did not speak about abrogation of Artice 370 in the state when it headed the NDA government at the Centre. In fact, the BJP was misleading people on the issue of Article 370, NC spokesperson Ajay Sadhotra told reporters here. "The BJP has raised the demand for scrapping Article 370 at a rally here recently. We want to ask why it did not speak about this when it headed the NDA government," he said. This showed their doublespeak, Sadhotra, an MLA, said.

Jammu and Kashmir Industries and Commerce Minister S S Salathia also lashed out at the BJP for what he said raising the bogey of Article 370 time and again. Article 370 is an edifice on which Centre-State ties stand, he told a public meeting at Karalian in Vijaypur. "Whey they did not scrap the Article when their party headed the NDA government at the Centre," asked the minister.
