ISLAMABAD: Former President/Premier of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Mujahid-e-Awwal Sardar Abdul Qayum Khan has warned that India was out to tarnish the fairness of the ongoing peaceful, unarmed and indigenous Kashmir movement to damage the grand objectives of the cause and Kashmiris simultaneously.
Commenting on the startling disclosures of Indian machinations-in-the-making in an English Daily in its editorial of December 6, 2010, here the veteran Kashmiri leader said that whenever the Kashmiri movement entered its crucial stage in occupied Kashmir attracting international approbation India started maligning the valiant pursuers of the struggle.
The December 6, editorial by veteran journalist/Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer warns that India is in advance stage of her planning to install its brand of terrorists outfit in the name of Kashmiri Taliban to carry out acts of widespread sabotages/killings in both parts of Jammu and Kashmir to defame in the eyes of the world the role of the pro-freedom Kashmiris.
Sardar Qayyum Khan in his comments asked the governments of Pakistan and AJK to take serious notice of the diabolic planning of this nature by India and mount preventive cautions at all levels. “It is the duty of every Kashmiri and Pakistani to foil this dirty game aimed at weakening Pakistan and damaging the just cause of Kashmir. Kashmir is not a single issue. It exists on the live agenda rolls of the UN Security Council. Security Council passed a series of resolutions urging peaceful resolution to this dispute via plebiscite. The UN mandate in Kashmir is operative as UN Military Peacekeepers are stationed in Srinagar”, he recalled.
He explained that the current movement in India-held Kashmir is quite indigenous, unarmed and peaceful. Despite that Indian occupying forces have killed over 112 innocent Kashmiris. The outside world has accepted the peaceful nature of the movement. Today this movement finds world-wide sympathizers. The global diplomatic community accepts the peacefulness and the effectiveness of this movement. This deeply bites the India’s arrogance and pride in the world today, he asserted.
He recalled that in the past too India tried hard to defame the Kashmir movement by giving it various names like fundamentalism, terrorism and what not. But Delhi propaganda collapsed before the force of truth at all levels and the movement is continuing. He urged upon the global diplomatic community not to be swayed by the Indian propaganda. Kashmir movement is basically a struggle for the right of self-determination of the Kashmiris, a right promised to them by the UN community in several signed resolutions. He appealed the media to dismantle the newest Indian machinations against Pakistan and Kashmir.
