He said that New Delhi was frustrated by an overwhelming support being extended by the Indian civil society to the Kashmir cause. He maintained that Indian agencies were engaged in using every tactic to distort the image of liberation struggle in occupied Kashmir. He said that the recent attacks by the Hindu fanatics against the APHC Chairman were a part of the same game plan. Ghulam Ahmed Mir appealed to the civil society in India to beware of the Indian propaganda machinery about the Kashmir dispute. He said that liberation struggle in Jammu and Kashmir was an indigenous one and the Kashmiris were offering supreme sacrifices to take it to its logical conclusion.
The JKPM Chairman called upon the government of India to accept the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir and create conducive atmosphere for the resolution of the dispute through tripartite talks. He said that no power under the sky could deny the Kashmiris their inalienable right to self-determination. The meeting was also addressed by Shahid Saleem, Shafi Thauker, Jan Muhammad, Chaudhry Akber and Abdul Rashid.
